Caring with Confidence Road Test Results

More than 80 unpaid carers took part in the Caring with Confidence ‘road-test’ event in Manchester at the end of June.
The event gave carers the opportunity to meet other people in a similar situation to themselves and to try out the sessions being offered by Caring with Confidence, which have been developed to help carers make a positive difference to their life and that of the person they care for.
The carers provided comments and feedback about the Caring with Confidence group sessions and the results show that on the whole, carers rate the sessions highly and particularly like the opportunities for discussion and sharing ideas and experiences with other carers.
They found the information and activities involved in the sessions helpful. Being with other carers helped some people realise that, as one carer put it: “I’m not on my own.”
The Caring with Confidence team have used feedback and useful suggestions from carers, and from the session facilitators, to improve and adapt the sessions. The team would once again like to thank the carers who took part and gave their time generously to this ‘road-test’.
