Online Sessions

If you have access to the internet at home, at a friend or neighbours house or at your local library or UK Online Centre, you can do Caring with Confidence sessions for free online. The sessions are interactive and split up into bite size chunks so it’s easy to dip in and out of.
They not only offer an alternative if group sessions aren’t running locally to you, but also the flexibility and privacy if you prefer to work through the sessions on your own rather than in a group situation.
You do not need to have done any kind of online studying like this before in order to do a Caring with Confidence online session. But before deciding whether it is for you, see how many of the following statements you agree with:
- I have access to a computer and the internet at home, at a friend or neighbour's house, or at a local library or UK Online Centre
- I am fairly competent at using a computer
- I am pretty good at managing my own time and I will be able to find time to complete the online session (roughly a total of three hours)
- I don’t have time to spend three hours away from home all in one go to attend a group session
- I feel fairly happy working through the session on my own with the support of a self-study mentor if I need it
- I am a fairly competent reader.
If the answer to all these statements is yes, then online could be for you! If you are not sure about one or two of the statements, could a friend, neighbour or relative help?
What are the benefits of online sessions for carers?
- work at your own pace and at a time convenient to you
- do as much or as little at a time as you want
